March 2005

Boo-yeah! Among my favourite sets to date, I think. Thanks, in no small part, to the photographic acumen of Erich Saide, my photographer for this project, and the always superlative modelling skills of my model, Euvie, who has worked with me once before, on my also-dandy "Ophidia" set). At her request, I happily include here links to her LiveJournal account and OneModelPlace profile for use by prospective employers.

In case the title is not sufficiently indicative of my inspiration, it was two-fold. One: The Rorschach ink blot test. Two: The movie Cabaret. The fusion of the two styles was cleaner and sexier than I dared hoped, again, in no small part, due to the ability of this fine young model to simply GET IT in a way few models can. Get the mood. Get the theme. Get into character. Lovely.

So anyways. As you may have noticed, I've been using costume pieces more often in my sets of late, and this is the largest expression of that yet. I'm trying to move away from just doing picture sets which are OF body painting (which I think was holding me back for a long time), and get more into doing sets which INVOLVE body painting. I stand by the results.
