Colin Macdonald

This piece was created for my comic strip, Dave & Vyacheslav; a collaborative effort between myself and a group of actors, photos of whom are the basis for the character illustrations. The inspiration came from the idea of incorporating their mannerisms, body language, and bearing into the portrayal of the characters, while adding my own visual flair.

This piece went through quite the evolution, as I played with the lighting effects and colour pallete until I got an appropriately moody and ominous looking character. More of a conceptual piece than an actual part of the comic, this plays to the nightmarish character of Mr. Macdonald more than anything else.
