Marvel Comics had recently made the decision that, after a couple of years of the X-Men wearing outfits which people might realistically wear, they ought to go back to dressing as super-heroes. I was disappointed. Particularly, I disliked Wolverine's new costume intensely. In light of this, I took it upon myself to come up with my own costume design for him which was a middle-ground, of sorts, between what he had been wearing and what he ended up wearing.

Wolverine is supposed to be about 5'5", in spite of how tall some artists have decided to draw him, and so with this, I decided to draw him really stocky and short-looking. I think I got the proportions about right for a muscular man of that height.
